Sadie says thanks!
We;ve counted our nickels and this year the Sadie Hawkins Race and Style Ride raised over $2000 for the Chicago Women's Health Center! That is fantastic! Chicago tried to clown us with crappy weather, but over 200 cyclists came out and had a blast!
I'd like to thank all of the volunteers, DJs, and racers who helped to make this another great race.

Race Info!
If you have any non-racing friends that like to party, please invite them!
- Race/start info
- Open containers
- The after party!
- Raffle
SEE YOU AT THE START:
The start will be at the Humboldt Park Boathouse 1301 N. Humboldt Blvd.
You've pre-registered, but you still need the list of which of those checkpoints is a pick-up and which is a drop-off, so you'll need to come to the race start at Humboldt Park at 5pm. At 5pm we'll give folks spoke cards and manifests (your ride guide) and final instructions. The ride will start around 5:45pm, as soon as everyone gets what they need. DRESS WARM. I cannot emphasize how important it is to keep warm! We also STRONGLY recommend helmets and lights. You can pick up cheap lights at Performance Bikes.
HOW IT WORKS:
Just a reminder, this is a ride with pick-ups and drop offs. Your manifest will tell you which is which, but the trick is you can go in any order as long as you don't go to the drop-off till you have the item you're dropping off- make sense? For example, a pick-up might give you a tootsie roll pop, and the drop off might make you figure out how many licks it takes to get to the center. If you show up to that drop off without the item, you can't do the task, so you'd have to go back and get it. You can do all 4 pick-drop pairs, or as many as you'd like. Only teams who complete all 8 checkpoints qualify for the "fastest" prizes, but if you skip some, no worries, there are other fun prizes for best dressed, style, and the best at some of the checkpoint tasks. Checkpoints will close 2 hours after the start. If it's been 2 hours and you haven't finished all checkpoints, start heading towards the last check point.
CHECKPOINTERS:
The majority of our checkpointers this year are volunteers from the Chicago Women's Health Center. Please be nice to them. It is not the end of the world if you had to wait 4 extra seconds to get your manifest signed.
OPEN CONTAINERS:
Due to prior events and our experience, we ask that there are no open containers at the registration/start. Don't even take it out of your bag. The Chicago Police Department are probably going to be lingering and we want to avoid anyone getting tickets or having the Sadie shut down. Please please please, no drinking at the boathouse!
RAFFLE TICKETS:
If you haven't already, pick up some raffle tickets! One for $3 or 2 for 5 bucks for the chance to win a custom bike frame and paint job or an awesome t-shirt and 1 free gynecological exam from the Chicago Women's Health Center!
AFTER PARTY:
The after party will be held at 2106 S. Kedzie. Prizes will be announced at the party, beer will flow, booties will shake, and there will be IRO Sprints!
